Billions of dollars and precious lives of American troops have been squandered in Afghanistan and for what? So that Afghanistan can be run according to the dictates of Sharia (Muslim law). It’s in their constitution.

Taliban to Open Schools in Afghanistan
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – The Taliban said it will open its own schools in areas of southern Afghanistan under its control, an apparent effort to win support among local residents and undermine the Western-backed government’s efforts to expand education.
The announcement follows a violent campaign by the fundamentalist Islamic group against state schools in the five years since its ouster by U.S.-led forces. The Taliban destroyed 200 schools and killed 20 teachers last year, and President Hamid Karzai said Sunday that 200,000 children had been driven from the classroom.

Of course it will be an Islamic education, using the same textbooks that were used under the Taliban’s brutal rule. And the education will be for boys first, girls later… maybe.
“I would like to send my sons to madrassa, not to school, and I want them to get an Islamic education because our religion teaches peace and how to live with your neighbor,” he said.
I guess he means the good old days, when Afghanistan was under the Taliban and strict Islamic law was enforced. No uppity females or infidels to disrupt the Utopia that was Afghanistan.
